How to update your nook to 1.1.1 if you have 1.1.0 a.k.a. how to fix Adobe Digital Editions
Trying to update to 1.1.1 on your nook and getting an "Invalid Update" error? I've figured out a way to get the update to work.
- Install Python if you don't have it installed. (Macs already have it installed by default.)
- Run the script from here using Python.
- Wait until the script finishes getting the firmware file downloaded.
- Connect your nook via the USB cable.
- Copy the "signed_bravo_update.1.0.0.dat" to the root of the nook drive and rename it to "signed_bravo_update.dat".
- Eject and disconnect your nook and watch it revert back to 1.0.0 automatically.
- Download the 1.1.1 update from Barnes and Noble's website.
- Connect your nook to your computer through the USB cable again.
- Copy the 1.1.1 update that you've downloaded to the root of the nook drive.
- Eject and disconnect your nook.
- Your nook will reboot and you will have 1.1.1 on your nook with all the bug fixes and optimizations that it offers (including the Adobe Digital Editions bug that some users are having).
Update: A 500 error keeps on occurring with this script, so I guess I'll have to find someone who has the 1.0.0 update saved somewhere.
